We are so sorry we haven't updated our page in awhile, Miss Meredith was experiencing technical difficulties accessing her photos.. Oopsie!!
But we are all sorted now and would like to share a few highlights of our wonderful Term 2 with you.

Zero Waste

We were lucky to have Zero Waste visit and teach us all about the importance of reusing and recycling. We learnt how to make our very own compost in a plastic bottle. Hopefully you have seen our finished products and have your own compost up and running at home. If not, feel free to ask us how - we are experts now!

Middle Syndicate trip to the Auckand Museum

  We had an amazing trip to the Auckland Museum, where we learnt all about different Myths and Legends. Boy oh Boy was there A LOT to look at. We all had a blast. Here are a some photos.






Matariki 


 We have been learning about the 

seven stars of Matariki. To celebrate Matariki, we had a school Hangi and performance night. We loved watching the Hangi pit being made and the Kai cooking. For many of us this was a new experience. We were super lucky to have Terina's whanau helping with the Hangi and of course making that delicious Fry Bread, yum yum yum!! It was wonderful having our very own Hangi expert Terina, to teach us all about it. Here are some photos the Hangi being prepared, Terina's whanau and our Kapa Haka group on the night.

Today Room 9 reflected on our Genius Hour Work that we have done most of Term 1. We were using a new strategy called 2 Stars and 1 Wish. The students had to select 2 things they thought their partner did really well on their presentation and 1 wish that they needed to work on for next time. Wow what a fantastic term we are having!! Here are a few highlights! Rotary Club Dictionaries We were very very fortunate to have the Rotary Club visit us. Not only did they visit, but they came bearing gifts! All Year Four students were given their very own Illustrated Dictionary to keep! Thank you so much, we love them and have been putting them to great use - especially during Vivid Vocabulary. You're so special to me... We have been practicing singing Six 60's 'Special'. We have loved singing this in class so much that preformed it in assembly. Here is a quick snapshot. POP! POP! POP! Yummy in our tummies!! Miss Meredith brought in her popcorn maker and together we made popcorn. It was delicious. While it was being made, we wrote down what we could see, hear and smell.Then the fun part, we got to EAT it!! There were some amazing stories and poems to come from this experience - POP into our class to check out our writing.
